Themed Cooking

Themed cooking classes can be booked for a private group or corporate teambuilding event; you are welcome to contact us for a complete quotation.

Themed Cooking lessons are scheduled for every Wednesday evening according to Antoinette’s monthly schedule.

Themed cooking classes are presented for a minimum booking of 10 persons to a maximum of 16. The group will be cooking together, and two persons will be responsible for preparing a recipe or recipes, depending on the class attended. Participants can roam the kitchen observing the preparation of all the recipes.

Most of Antoinette’s themed cooking classes are based on a 3 course meal with the exception of speciality classes. Not only will all class notes and a complete recipe book of the specific class attended be handed out, participants will also be treated to a full hands-on experience with trained staff eager to assist with all your culinary enquiries. Coffee, tea and juice will also be served.

Participants are responsible for their own alcoholic beverages according to Antoinette’s terms and conditions.

Chef's Choice

Join us for a fun 2-hour session in our kitchen starting at 10h00 and ending at 12h00, so that you can still fetch the kids from school. Chef Antoinette will demonstrate and explain several recipe options to the group, showing you how to make your life easier and create more time for yourself. This demonstration session will include some hands-on participation, however, due to the time frame of this class, it will not be a sit-down and eat class.

Class fee of R350 per person will include the recipes and Chef’s notes as well as taste testing of dishes prepared. We can only present this class if we receive a minimum of 10 bookings. To make your booking, please complete this document and forward the same back to us with proof of payment. 

Date Night – Couples Cooking

Enjoy a special cooking experience with the love of your life in Antoinette’s kitchen, no interruptions, no kids, no cell phones, just some cooking fun. During this 4 hour cooking session a three course meal will be prepared by yourself for each other. You are welcome to bring with a bottle of wine or two too enjoy together.  This cooking session will be open for couple bookings only, and will be presented once a month according to the Antoinette's Monthly Schedule.

How to make your own Sushi

For the food lover who enjoys Sushi Bars and restaurants, or the adventurous cook keen to make exquisite morsels of Sushi at home, this is an exciting contemporary experience.

You will participate in a guided step by step hands-on sushi making class. Allowing you to experience all the aspects of making your own Sushi.

Sushi making speciality class will be presented according to Antoinette’s Monthly schedule.

Making fresh pasta – Italian 1 cooking class

You cannot make pasta alone, and shouldn’t – it is a communal event. Pasta is emotional food and should be made in an environment of love and gossip.

For a hands-on cooking class, learn how to make your own fresh pasta with a wide selection of delicious pasta sauces. Antoinette’s journey from Naples through the vineyards of Tuscany to the restaurants of Bologna will inspire you to learn, make and enjoy the most amazing freshly made pasta dishes on piping hot homemade true Italian focaccia.

Making filled and stuffed pasta – Italian 2 cooking class

Your addiction for pasta started, and you want to learn how to make your own stuffed or filled pasta. Pasta dishes, stuffed with a lot more than cheese, and bubbling to perfection — that's what we crave for dinner. Antoinette’s will show you some of her favourite decadent pastas, perfect for dining with indulgence!

There are various kinds of stuffed pasta all over the world. Some varieties are uniquely regional and others are not widely known. We will introduce you to stuffed pastas such as Cannelloni, Ravioli, and Tortellini to name a few.

Antoinette’s filled pasta class will be presented according to Antoinette’s monthly schedule.

Rustico – Italian country food – Italian 3 cooking class

Italian Country Cooking is about the real food of Italy. It is about cucina povera, Italian Country Cooking, as you’ll discover when you try it, means eating with a warm heart–quite possibly better than you’ve ever done in your life. That is why in this class we will cook hearty Italian stews, make creamy polenta, and seasonal Italian desserts.

Antoinette’s Rustico – Italian country food – Italian 3 cooking class will be presented according to Antoinette’s Monthly schedule.

Greek Cooking

Greek cooking offers an incredibly rich and diverse array of foods and beverages that are the culmination of literally thousands of years of living, cooking, and eating. While each Greek meal is fresh and inviting, it is also a trip back through Greek history.

Once you taste the exotic flavours of Greek food, you will be hooked, during Antoinette’s Greek cooking class; you will learn the secret of Greek-style home cooking.

Weber® Grill Academy™ – Easy Smoking Class 2 (thrill of the grill is a pre requirement for this class)

‘Easy Smoking – Class 2’ is ideal for those who have experienced direct and indirect cooking. It will not only add to your repertoire of recipes but have you using a range of techniques and accessories that will enhance your skills and have your friends in awe!

On the course a wide variety of different recipes will be cooked. Meat, fish, breads, sides and desserts. You will, of course taste the results! This course covers a range of cuisines from traditional South African to Asian, and even Italian!

Weber® Grill Academy™ – Grilling for Chicks – Class 3

‘Grilling for chicks’ will brainwash the long lasting tradition that to braai you have to have more testosterone levels than is known to mankind. This course is for girls that like to play with fire and if you are not a girl but still like to play with fire, you are also welcome. Let’s face the facts, right out of Eden’s gate; girls received the short end of the “braaitang”.

We enable you to expand your braai knowledge and recipes. This fun, but informative course will leave you with so much self confidence that will translate into great food, great conversation, and great fun.

Cooking with venison

For most people the taste of venison is just too wild, and most voice negative opinions. But, did you know that venison is one of the most healthiest meat alternatives, considering that it basically does not have any fat, and more organic than this would be hard to find. Venison, when it's cooked just right, is incredibly mild and here at Antoinette’s we will guide you in preparing succulent and delicious venison dishes.

Christmas Cooking

Gone are the days of formal buffets, today’s parties are as much about enjoying easy living as they are about the food itself. All of this will fit seamlessly into a lazy holiday schedule. Antoinette’s well planned Christmas menus will make you a gorgeous organised Christmas fairy of sort.

Indian Cooking

The popularity of Indian cuisine is ever-increasing but many people still regard it as something that is prepared as an occasional treat. The Indian Cooking class presents the flavours of India, sealed in four mouth-watering spices and chilli blends; Red-, Green-, Garam- and Three Spice Masalas. Our unique mixture shows the way to simplified Indian cuisine and becomes the source of endless inspiration for curries and other delicacies.

French Country Cooking

The culinary art from France gives you a real taste of a country that has made food one of the greatest joys of everyday life. Join our culinary journey from the kitchens of Provence, through the vineyards of Bureaux to the Bakers of Paris, and discover the food that defines today’s French cooking.

Thai Cooking

The food of Thailand is a comprehensive introduction to one of the world’s great cuisines. Thailand has an increasingly well-known and much loved repertoire of dishes, some more familiar than others. Join our culinary journey through the street snacks found in Bangkok’s markets and discover the myriad dishes that make up modern Thai cuisine.

Moroccan Cooking

Food is a mosaic of colour, and the original combinations of flavours create something truly special. The history of invasion and the blending of cultures have produced a fusion cuisine with hints of Spanish, Portuguese, French, and North African character. The Arabs introduced the interesting combination of sweet and sour flavours and a love of opulence and sensuality. Learn how to cook using traditional recipes, creating the fabulous flavours of Morocco. Feast on favourites such as Lamb Tagine, or learn the secret of making perfect Couscous, experiment with new spice blends, and make your own Harissa.

Mexican Cooking

Many people associate Mexican food with hot peppers and Chilli Con Carne. The Mexican kitchen, however, has so much more to offer. Did you know that many dishes are not spicy after all? In fact, many have a delicate, creamy taste. Antoinette’s will show you that in a variety of Mexican dishes you will see recipes enriched with fresh herbs such as Rosemary, Cumin, and Coriander.

Easy Entertaining – Special 3 Course Menu

The special art of presenting food is no longer restricted to the provinces of the world’s greatest chefs, exclusive restaurants or professional staffed homes. The visual elegance of haute cuisine, striking simple hors d’oeuvres and magnificent entrees can easily be taught to the home cook to bring luscious decorative desserts, delicious vegetables, and accompaniments to the table with grace and pride.

This 3 course menu class is designed as a special cooking event for couples, loved ones, Moms and Daughters, Sisters, BFF’s or even you and your boss.
